What can you use the app for?

Actionspace is a task and project management application that powers individual and teams' productivity. As it is built on the Microsoft Azure platform, Actionspace natively integrates with SharePoint, Outlook and Office 365. The app is suited to small and medium-sized businesses looking for a simple yet fully featured project management solution that the whole team can use. Actionspace can be split into three main areas: advanced task management; collaboration and team management; as well as project management, with features such as Gantt charts, project templates, and automated workflows.

Actionspace’s task management features allows you create tasks (with the option to do this directly from Outlook emails), schedule them and assign them. You can track tasks and see the consequences of tasks using tags, flexible views and filters. Managers can assign multiple levels of subtasks, adding and splitting subtasks on the fly. Team members can work together in Actionspace by sharing documents and links, and managers can assign specific roles and define built-in workflows.

Project managers can view all assigned and completed tasks, as well as issues and deadlines on their dashboards, on a Gantt chart or in a “Tree View”. Actionspace sends notifications of new tasks to complete, while the dashboard view gives both team members and managers an overview of their own tasks, tasks they’ve assigned, and tasks they are observing. The app supports the Getting Things Done personal productivity concept and its features and workflow reflect this.

What are the differences to other apps?

Actionspace is built on the Microsoft Azure platform, meaning it can be deployed as a plug-n-play add-on that works with your existing Microsoft products, namely SharePoint Online, SharePoint 2013 and Office 365. This means that users can migrate tasks from Outlook emails and SharePoint Tasks. They can also share and collaborate on documents among these apps. Actionspace utilizes the Getting Things Done philosophy for increasing productivity, providing a straightforward solution for complete task management.
