As it is built on the Microsoft Azure platform, Actionspace natively integrates with SharePoint, Outlook and Office 365. Actionspace can be split into three main areas: advanced task management; collaboration and team management; as well as project management, with features such as Gantt charts, project templates, and automated workflows.

Actionspace’s task management features allows you create tasks (with the option to do this directly from Outlook emails), schedule them and assign them. You can track tasks and see the consequences of tasks using tags, flexible views and filters. Managers can assign multiple levels of subtasks, adding and splitting subtasks on the fly. Team members can work together in Actionspace by sharing documents and links, and managers can assign specific roles and define built-in workflows.

Project managers can view all assigned and completed tasks, as well as issues and deadlines on their dashboards, on a Gantt chart or in a “Tree View”. Actionspace sends notifications of new tasks to complete, while the dashboard view gives both team members and managers an overview of their own tasks, tasks they’ve assigned, and tasks they are observing. The app supports the Getting Things Done personal productivity concept and its features and workflow reflect this.

Actionspace provides an easy to use interface, that is clean and uncluttered. The layout and design will be familiar to anyone using Microsoft online products with the same icons and work flow. On the right hand side of the screen there is a navigation bar giving access to all your own tasks, assigned tasks, and tasks you are observing. From the main dashboard you can see all notifications, tasks by status, and all tasks with the ability to sort and filter them. You can see a detailed view of each task with attached documents, history and a comment box.

You can try Actionspace for free by clicking on the “Try it Free” tab at the top of the homepage. From here, you can book a free 20 minute demo, or a free 14-day trial. To access the trial you need to fill in a form requesting your email, name, phone number and company name; no credit card is required. You can also buy subscription licenses for 3 months or 12 months directly from the pricing page on the website.

What does it cost to use the application?

Actionspace costs the same whether you deploy it for Office 365, or for SharePoint. Pricing is based on the number of users, costing $10 for up to 250 users, $9 for up to 500 users, and $8 for up to 1000 users. For more than a thousand users Actionspace will provide you with a custom quote.
